NICK MISSAILIDIS the DJ that launched Melbourne's leading Greek Scene......

It all began in the 90's at the GATE, the first Greek night called "Unique" in Melbourne every Saturday. What followed was a host of successful Greek nights that would see us through the next decade including "Eurogroove" @ Billboard "Amane" @ Carousel, "Mercedes" @ Ritz, "Shades" @ Warehouse, and “Discoteque" @ NextBlue. Then the “Baraki” scene took off beginning with Kivotos, Nemesis, Gamma, Madisons just to name a few and then back to Amber Lounge, the longest running Greek night on a Saturday night that took Melbourne by storm for 3 years.

Nick Missailidis is the first DJ and host to launch Greek and Euro nights at Melbourne’s leading night spot Silk Road with the massive success of Tropicana, Glamorous, Eurofest (Greek l Italian l Spanish) and Fabulous (Xmas Night) with record crowds attending each time! 

Nick has also hosted and DJ’d at most of the major Greek acts to grace our shores ranging from Anna Vissi, Yiannis Ploutarhos, Notis Sfakianakis, Dimitris Kokotas, Xristos Dandis, Giorgos Alkaios, Nikos Kourkoulis, Giorgos Mazonaki just to mention a few. Nick Missailidis is the first DJ to release a CD single "S'AGAPAO M'AKOUS" with Kosta Kaprallos featuring the bonus track "Gaida".

A major icon in Melbourne's Greek community Nick Missailidis is the original "wog boy". Over a decade now, Nick has gotten up to all kinds of mischeif on his radio program DRIVE 3XY (formerly Musical Journey) on 1422am Monday to Friday 4-6pm, also hosting the GREEKBEAT SHOW on TVH CH31 Fridays at 9pm! Nick also helped launch the popular domain www.greekcity.com.au in Melbourne.

Proud of his Pontian heritage whilst maintaining his culture by dancing, teaching dance, hosting, DJing and embracing anything that is Greek, Nick Missailidis is hard at work running Melbourne's biggest Greek and Euro nights!
